We are the Georgia Women Fly Fishers (GWFF), a member driven non-profit organization comprised of anglers passionate about fly fishing, friendship and community. We seek to introduce and educate women in the sport of fly fishing in a supportive, non-competitive environment.
we Fish & we Partner
AMFs (After Meeting Fish) are held the following weekend after our monthly meetings and take place across great fishing streams in North Georgia.
Club trips are scheduled every spring and fall and allow members to come together and enjoy fishing destinations outside of Georgia.
GWFF members volunteer and partner with organizations within the fly fishing community, including: Project Healing Waters (PHW), Chattahoochee Riverkeeper (CRK), North Georgia Trout Online (NGTO), Orvis Atlanta, Georgia Trout Unlimited, Fly Fishers International, Unicoi Outfitters, and more!
We Give back
As our members are rooted in various communities in our region, GWFF believes that service is an important part of our mission.
We do this through three annual events - Casting for Confidence (CFC), Reeling in Recovery (RiR), and the All Girls Fish (AGF). CFC and RiR aim to provide fundamental fly fishing instruction while engaging participants in the therapeutic qualities of the cast and the peace that comes from standing in a mountain stream surrounded by water. CFC is one-day retreat for women cancer survivors while RiR is a retreat for women in recovery from alcohol and drug addiction. AGF is a one-day fishing extravaganza aimed to train young girls in the sport of fly fishing.
WE EDUCATE
GWFF hosts its own beginner and intermediate fly fishing classes for its new members. GWFF also partners with Atlanta Orvis to help teach their beginner fly fishing classes.
